Bita Correa

Dr. Bita Correa has worked extensively with FUNDAEC since 2007 on a variety of programs and projects including: developing a technical degree program on “Administration of Local Economies”, coordinating the Preparation for Social Action program nationally and internationally, and expanding it through teacher training and organizational development across 7 countries in Africa, Asia, and Australasia.

Additionally, Bita has worked with the Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity to raise up and train university seminar program coordinators and facilitators across Latin America. Her work as a researcher and practitioner also includes collaborating with teams from the University of California, Berkeley, New York University, Promundo and the World Bank on a variety of publications and projects. Currently, Bita is leading a regenerative agriculture project in the Norte de Cauca region with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.

Dr. Correa holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Pedagogy from OISE, University of Toronto, where she researched the impact of on-site mentoring in cultivating teacher professional development in Fundaec’s rural secondary education programs in Colombia and Honduras.
