Vision and Mission

We envision a world where grassroots research and knowledge increasingly shape the identification of and solution to humanity’s challenges at all levels.

Through education research and partnerships, CRED raises the capacity of people working in grassroots development to equip populations to promote the betterment of their communities.

Framework for action

CRED achieves its mission through the following three pathways:

  1. 1

    Education for development research that generates evidence about uniquely effective approaches contributing to social, economic, and environmental progress.

  2. 2

    Knowledge exchange among development organizations through: short term study, field experiences, publishing papers and articles, and hosting conferences and seminars.

  3. 3

    Action research partnerships in collaboration with education for development organizations whose work draws upon collaborative and consultative approaches and is aimed at the establishment of the oneness of mankind.

Our principles

Central to CRED’s vision of a more unified and prosperous future are the following principles:

  • Through the oneness of humankind, we acknowledge our interconnectedness and celebrate the rich diversity that exists in our natural and social environment. 
  • Human potential is developed through education that acknowledges and promotes human nobility.
  • At the heart of development lies the process of the generation, application, and diffusion of knowledge by grassroots populations.
  • The advancement of civilization can only be achieved through the participation of everyone.
  • Knowledge generated by both systems of science and religion is essential for achieving humanity’s true well-being.
  • Restoring our relations with nature has a substantial influence on the ways we relate with one another and the kind of institutions and communities that we create.
